3Squared signs 5-year deal with Davis Wagon Services

Rail freight wagon maintenance company Davis Wagon Services (DWS) has signed a new, five-year contract with digital software consultants 3Squared to boost its digitisation programme and to add value to its customers.

The agreement sees DWS investing in RailSmart HUB, DOCS and FORMS to further digitise its business processes in a five-year deal that also extends the maintainer’s use of the RailSmart Employee Development System (EDS).

The new contract builds on the two-year agreement the companies had signed in 2018 for the provision of EDS, the 3Squared flagship app, designed to reduce the administrative burden of compliance and optimise employee performance.

John Hall, DWS Managing Director said: “The freight industry is moving into the 21st century. With technology becoming more tailored and affordable to businesses now is the ideal time to invest in it.

DWS joins a list of companies using RailSmart products including East Midlands Trains, South Western Railways, GB Railfreight, Freightliner, VTG, Bombardier Transportation UK and Stadler Rail.

RailSmart is a suite of 13 individual apps designed to make business processes more efficient. Created by award winning 3Squared, RailSmart is being used by many of Great Britain’s passenger, freight and supply industry businesses.

Fantastic new updates to RailSmart: Docs, Forms and Hub

RailSmart Updates

A new update to RailSmart Docs, Forms and Hub was released on Tuesday 14th May, with all users being automatically upgraded to the new release.

 

What’s New

  • New document viewer : Interact more with documents using the new PDF viewer. Users can now draw using a range of colours, open hyperlinks and print or save documents to their iPad.
  • Powerful new keyword search : Users can quickly find what they’re looking for by entering a word or phrase into the search box.
  • Updated UI : We’ve improved screen layouts so it’s easier to read multi-column tables, without the need to scroll horizontally.
  • Improved auditing reliability : We’ve improved the reliability of the auditing area of the application so read and acknowledged receipts work more consistently.

The release also included the following bug fixes and improvements:

  1. Performance improvements making applications quicker to respond.
  2. Network and sync errors are handled better in the mobile application.
  3. Back end monitoring implemented to help improve error diagnosis and ongoing product improvements.
