We’ve moved to new offices in Sheffield to accommodate growth

Sheffield-based rail technology speciaists 3Squared has moved into new 9000m2offices following a £250,000 refit of the entire second floor of the Fountain Precinct building in the heart of Sheffield city centre.

Having started its journey in 2002, founders Tim Jones and James Fox have led and grown the company from a two-man start-up to a successful, Queen’s Award-winning business that puts its people at the heart of its operation. The move into the larger office will enable it to further its growth plans by almost doubling its head office workforce.

The firm, which supplies its cutting-edge software to the railway sector helps customers save money, improve performance and reduce business risk, employs 52 members of staff. Its turnover has doubled year-on-year and the company outgrew its previous offices in the city.

3Squared isn’t moving very far though and will remain in the heart of the city, as its new offices occupy a different floor in its existing building.

The company spent £250,000 renovating the floor ready for the big move in order to create the best possible working conditions for its team, customers and suppliers and has been designed to support collaboration.

“We are delighted to be moving into a larger office space. It’s a major achievement and an important investment to meet our specific growing needs,” said James Fox, commercial director at 3Squared. “The office is a fantastic space for staff and customers alike and I’m sure it will help us to work closer.”

Fox added: “As well as plans to expand nationally 3Squared is very keen to retain its close links with the ‘steel city’ and this includes taking on more full-time staff along with work experience students from the local areas, as well as partnering with the city’s university.”
