3Squared to exhibit Down Under as part of international push

Sheffield-based digital technology consultancy 3Squared is to exhibit at AusRail, the largest railway trade fair in the southern hemisphere, next month for the first time.

Taking place between 3-6 December the event, organised by the Australasian Railway Association, is the largest railway trade fair in the southern hemisphere, attracting over 7,000 delegates and 450 exhibitors.

3Squared will be exhibiting on the Department for International Trade’s UK Pavilion where the company will be showcasing its RailSmart suite of products and services.

It is the first time that 3Squared will have exhibited outside of the UK and the firm is hoping the appearance Down Under will be a springboard to breaking into international markets with the innovative RailSmart suite of tools.

3Squared designs and develops bespoke, cutting-edge software for the railway industry to help customers save money, improve performance and boost safety compliance. Its RailSmart suite of tools increases safety and compliance among railway workers, while its tablet-based Driver Advisory System allows them to regulate and improve performance.

James Fox, Commercial Director at 3Squared, said: “We understand there are a number of synergies between the UK and the Australasian rail markets.  These include a drive for smarter asset management, a drive to increase efficiency in the freight and operator markets and the drive to encourage freight traffic from road to rail. These are all areas in which 3Squared’s products have already helped our clients make significant gains.

“RailSmart provides tools that can be used in isolation, or as a holistic suite.  Our Employee Development System (EDS) is used by most of our UK clients. Bombardier Transportation have reported that carrying out staff assessment “using EDS has achieved up to 75% time saved compared to our previous assessment process.”

Having doubled its turnover year on year in the last few years, and now employing a record number of staff, 3Squared maintains the entrepreneurial spirit and capability of a start-up but has the experience and maturity to address the needs of the complex rail and construction sectors.

Fox added: “We work with clients in construction, infrastructure, rail operations to help them digitalize a wide array of processes that traditionally relied on traditional paper-based systems.  Furthermore, we can integrate legacy systems with the latest technology platforms. This enables us and our clients to harness tacit knowledge and convert it into useable data, arguably one of the biggest challenges for companies across many sectors.

“Australia is of specific interest to us as there is a great opportunity for us to apply our knowledge of the UK rail freight market and support the planning and policies that support intermodal development. Whether a client needs to modernise one single process, or tackle specific challenges such as fleet tracking, asset monitoring or dynamic reporting 3Squared provide an almost turnkey software solution.”

3Squared will be exhibiting on the British Pavilion at AusRail+ on stand 95.
