FabDigital triumph at the National Rail Awards

Rail software experts FabDigital, sister company to 3Squared and part of the Velociti Group, have celebrated industry wide acknowledgement through its collaboration with Southeastern Railway, after the train operating company secured the coveted ‘Customer Service Excellence’ prize at the National Rail Awards.

The award recognises the work that FabDigital have undertaken with Southeastern Railway through its Dynamic Route Map (DRM) and Southeastern Customer Information System (SEIMS). Combined, these tools provide the technology backbone to deliver clear, accurate and up-to-date customer information, enabling Southeastern’s passengers to be kept well informed on operational updates.

FabDigital provides a range of high-quality software products that offer real time and accurate travel information in easy to navigate digital formats to Train Operating Companies (TOCs) across the UK. Its live timetabling and tracking applications seamlessly integrate with clients’ websites, improving efficiency, streamlining customer communications, and reducing administrative burdens.

Earlier this year saw the bringing together of FabDigital with 3Squared within the Velociti Group family. The Velociti Group are delighted to see its new acquisition is as highly regarded by the rail community, as it is by the management team at 3Squared.

3Squared secure coveted Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation

We are delighted to share that we have been awarded Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation. The award will enhance our current suite of accreditations and reinforces our continuous commitment to cyber security and data integrity. 

This coveted accreditation proves that we are taking careful steps and guaranteeing  the right precautions to provide a robust and secure service to our clients and suppliers alike, which plays a particular importance in the digitalised world in which we live and work. 

Cyber Essentials Plus  backed by the Government’s National Centre for Cyber Security is an industry-supported scheme that helps organisations to protect themselves against common online threats. The scheme, launched in 2014, enables organisations to gain one of two Cyber Essentials badges, of which we were awarded the first only last year (link) . It is backed by industry experts including the Federation of Small Businesses, the CBI and several insurance organisations which offer incentives for businesses. 

Having been ISO27001 accredited since 2017, we are pleased to enhance our status through Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation. Cyber Essentials is of increasing importance and is a mandatory requirement for any company operating in the UK and bidding for central government contracts that deal with the handling of personal information and the provision of certain ICT products and services.

Sheffield’s 3Squared brings home coveted Rail Business Award for excellence

3Squared Coveted Rail Business Award for Excellence

Digital solutions and software specialist for the rail industry, 3Squared, has taken the top prize in the Supplier and Contractor Excellence category at this year’s Rail Business Awards (RBAs).

The Sheffield company beat strong competition to be crowned the winner in a category that focused on successful collaboration and innovation across the rail industry, for its ground-breaking RailSmart suite of digital solutions.

This year’s RBA event took place online for the first time over two days this week and 3Squared was announced as the winner via video at 12pm today.

The judges commented:

“3Squared has steadily evolved its RailSmart suite of products in partnership with significant clients to provide additional functionality for train operators and infrastructure managers.

“The company has continued to develop its business while giving back to the next generation.”

Sheffield’s 3Squared features in Top Tech Yorkshire list

Specialists in digital solutions for the rail industry, 3Squared, has today been named as one of 20 technology pioneers in its region for the third time, by Top Tech Yorkshire.

The annual list, organised by law firm Mills and Reeve, celebrates companies who push the boundaries of what is possible within the technology arena, as well as those who adapt to the changing landscape of digital requirements.

Top Tech recognised that 3Squared’s award-winning RailSmart applications suite provides vital solutions to help accelerate the journey towards a digitised railway. The collaborative way of working and the technology developed by 3Squared was heralded as making the rail industry safer, greener and more efficient.

Sheffield-based 3Squared wins industry award for growth

3Squared named as joint winners of the Railway Industry Association’s (RIA) SME Growth Award alongside fellow nominee Motion Rail.

 

The award, sponsored by Classone Systems Limited, was one of eight awards presented during the Rail Industry Supplier Excellence (RISE) Awards which was held virtually for the first time on Wednesday evening (4 November 2020).

The RISE Awards are open to all RIA Members and aim to celebrate their contribution to the UK rail supply sector across a number of areas including: innovation; exports; environment and sustainability; safety and wellbeing; and equality, diversity and inclusion.

In their entry 3Squared, a digital solutions specialist based at Fountain Precinct in Sheffield, illustrated their key achievements from the past year and the significant growth they have experienced.

3Squared one of region’s top tech companies at NTAs

3Squared finalists at Northern Tech Awards 2020

Sheffield-based railway technology company 3Squared has been named as one of the UK’s fastest-growing technology companies at the annual Northern Tech Awards virtual awards (NTA) ceremony.

The NTAs recognise the 100 fastest-growing technology companies in the north and the awards are primarily focussed on shining a light on the leading technology businesses headquartered in the north of England and Scotland, while also celebrating innovation and entrepreneurship within the region.

The recognition comes as 3Squared experienced tremendous growth in 2019 and signed several lucrative contracts, and 2020 is set to continue to the growth trend with the firm recently moving into a new and larger office, following a £250,000 investment into the new office space, while the company has been on a recruitment drive with 13 people joining the firm since the start of the year.

After learning of 3Squared’s recognition as one of the fastest growing software company in this list, James Fox, commercial director at 3Squared, commented: “Being named as a leading northern technology business is a testament to the hard work 3Squared have put into delivering high-profile projects for the rail industry. 3Squared Achieves Cyber Essentials Accreditation

Here at 3Squared we are committed to providing the most robust service we can to clients and suppliers alike, and we treat the security of our clients’ information with the utmost respect and care.  We are therefore delighted to announce that we have recently been awarded Cyber Essentials accreditation, illustrating our commitment to cyber security, and demonstrating that we assure the highest duty of care when it comes to organisational information management.

This latest accreditation, backed by the Government’s National Centre for Cyber Security, enhances our suite of accreditations.  We have been ISO27001 accredited since 2017 and expect to achieve Cyber Essentials Plus as soon as we are able once COVID19 restrictions are lifted.

Whilst ISO27001 provides an internationally agreed definition of what is required for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving an Information Security System, Cyber Essentials is of increasing importance.  Cyber Essentials is a mandatory requirement for any company operating in the UK and bidding for central government contracts that deal with the handling of personal information and the provision of certain ICT products and services.

Achieving this accreditation supports our aims to work with more Government-level clients and projects, which plays a significant role in our company strategy.  3Squared has a well-earned reputation throughout the railway and construction sectors, and as such we are delighted that we can demonstrate our dedication to protecting our clients’ assets and data at this level.

3Squared invests heavily in the continued professional development of all its staff through dedicated personal training bursaries.  By achieving and maintaining both Cyber Essentials and ISO27001 accreditations we are also guaranteeing our continual development at an organisational level.
